Friday Night Mixed Doubles (Last Updated: 07/19/2011)

An informal adult group meets to play mixed doubles every other Friday night.  They start at 7pm, play a few sets, and then gather for drinks and horderves.  Just bring something and join the fun! The schedule is every other Friday evening until the end of summer, alternating court time at both Russell Mill and CS&T. Parental Help! (Last Updated: 06/03/2010)

Tennis Balls Parents we need your help. RMSTC spends money every year purchasing tennis balls for lessons. We realize that everyone appropriates them sometimes for their own use. How can one help it? They are right there on the ground after all. But, we ask you to remind the children to bring their own tennis balls from home for their tennis baseball games and not let the club’s tennis balls find their way into children’s pockets. We need these balls for the lessons! Thanks.

Russell Mill Teams Continue Winning Ways (Last Updated: 07/10/2011)

The Boys and Girls' Tennis Teams were victorious in their matches the week of July Fourth. On Tuesday, July 5th, the boys defeated Chelmsford Swim and Tennis 4-1 and Heritage Swim and Tennis on Thursday July 7th by the same score. Both matches were away. The girls were in action at home against Concord Country Club and won 3-2. All of the Russell Mill players played with poise and determination in the hot weather. Way to go girls!   This week the boys will play two different Wedgewood teams at home on Tuesday and Thursday while the girls travel to Nashawtuc Country Club on Tuesday and host Greenwood two days later. Matches begin at 1:30. Come watch the kids play!

Girls "A" Team Wins (Last Updated: 07/05/2011)

The girls traveled to Wincester Country Club and got their first victory of the season!  Thank you very much to our drivers, Kellie McCann (Cortney's Mom), and Patricia Busser (Fiona's Mom).  Big thank you as well to Ruth, Monica's Mom who sent a cooler of watermelon for the girls.  Thanks also to Alyssa Ladwig for filling in the top spot and traveling with the team to avoid a default.

Tennis Match Results (Last Updated: 07/05/2011)

The Russell Mill boys A tennis team had their first match of the season at home against Winchester Country Club on Thursday, June 30th. Russell Mill won 4-1 victory. Russell Mill’s first singles player, Nathan Park, had a decisive victory over Winchester’s Augie Martini. Sam Heinrich defeated Winchester’s Justin Krayer 10-6 at second singles, and Parker Zimmerman had a 10-4 win at third singles against A.J. Simboli to help Russell Mill sweep all three singles matches. The first doubles team of Bryce Dion and Ryan Sullivan won their match against Andrew McCarthy and Jake Ewing, and Russell Mill’s second doubles team, Reide Dion and David Crocker, lost to Winchester’s Mark Soper and Nick Daglio in a very close 11-9 match.

2011 Tennis Lesson Schedule

Classes are twice per week, offered Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday.  The same schedule is used each day.  Some levels have multiple time slots and this schedule may have to be adjusted based on demand.

Parents, please make sure your child only goes to the day and time of the lesson he or she is signed up for. Lessons cannot be made up if your child misses them. Please see the Tennis Bulletin Board to know what lesson your child is registered for. If you have a child in the tennis program, please be sure to put your email address on your activity sign-up sheet so you will be included in weekly news and schedule reminders from Alex. Thanks!
