Responsibilities of RMSTC Tennis Team Members and Parents

In an effort to clarify and articulate the expectations for tennis team members and parents of the Russell Mill Swim and Tennis Club, Inc., the Board of Directors has adopted the following policies and expectations to help guide the club and ensure our continued success.
Tennis Team Members Code of Conduct and Expectations
· Listen to your tennis coaches! They are at practice, the matches and at all RMSTC activities for your sole benefit. Use their wisdom, experience and advice for its intended purpose: to bring out the best in you and your tennis game!
· Participate in tennis team practices.
· Participate in all tennis matches– inform your coach if you will be away. Show your support for the team! Stay until the end of the competition and demonstrate your team spirit! All players should participate from the beginning to the end of the match.
· Support each and every one of your teammates on the court, whether it is at practice or at matches. Encourage them to do their best and deliver an outstanding performance.
· Always remember to wear your Russell Mill apparel. People will know who you are when wearing your RMSTC clothing and that Russell Mill Swim and Tennis Club, Inc. is there!
· Each player should make the RMSTC coaching staff aware of any and all medical conditions or other special circumstances which they believe the club should be made aware.
· It must be remembered at all times that as an athlete and member of RMSTC you will be traveling to meets and using other tennis courts and athletic facilities. Treat them respectfully.
· Equipment is a key part of your training and success. You are responsible for its care and proper use. Remember: practice is not over until all supplies and training aids are returned to the storage closet. The more people helping the faster it will go!
· Never interrupt or confront the coaching staff in an inappropriate manner; give them the respect they deserve.
· Never engage in any behavior that brings discredit or disruption to your fellow players and Russell Mill Swim and Tennis Club, Inc.
· Have Fun!
Parental Code of Conduct and Expectations
· Open communication between parents, players and coaches emphasizing goal-setting and focusing on the performance expectations of both the tennis player and the parents.
· Positive reinforcement of all team members in all situations - team spirit, team loyalty – team commitment!
· Parental involvement on the Board of Directors, tennis team committee and in organizing and running of matches and other club events!
· Assist with the driving of the team to away matches. Driving is a roundtrip commitment.
· Volunteer to assist with the hospitality for home events.
· Participation by your tennis player in all matches – inform your coach if you will be away. Have your children stay until the end of the competition and demonstrate their team spirit!
