About Russell MillSome RMSTC History November 24, 1947 was a big day for the members of the Russell Mill Swim and Tennis Club! This is the day that Harry Otto, Fred Simm, and Ralph Knight filed the Articles of Organization with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for the South Chelmsford Gun and Rod Club, Inc. This was Russell Mill Swim and Tennis Club's original name until it was changed in 2006. April 14, 1948 was the official date the South Chelmsford Gun and Rod Club, Inc was officially incorporated with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The corporation was formed for the purpose of promoting the interest of legitimate sport with gun and rod, to advance the protection and propagation of fish and game and to engage in such social and civic activities as the majority of the members deemed appropriate. A lot has changed since then and at the General Membership meeting held May 20, 2006, the membership voted to officially change our name to Russell Mill Swim and Tennis Club, Inc. with the purpose of encouraging and promoting family oriented sports and social activities.
